Discover the Heart of The Bentong Farm
Where Nature, Animals and Adventure Meet
As part of the Farm in the City group, The Bentong Farm is dedicated to bringing the essence of agriculture and rural life to the heart of every visitor. Nestled in a lush natural setting, the farm offers an immersive, hands-on experience that celebrates both sustainable farming and the beauty of traditional living.
Home to over 100 species of tame yet exotic animals, from alpacas, ring-tailed lemurs, and wallabies to albino long-tailed macaques, white water buffaloes, Punganur cattle, pygmy donkeys, Shetland ponies, a reticulated python, and many more — the farm invites guests to connect closely through interactive feeding and petting activities. Surrounding this animal haven are more than 80 species of local fruit trees and vegetables, transforming the farm into a living classroom where visitors of all ages can learn, explore, and grow.
For those seeking adventure, the farm offers ATV rides that weave through scenic landscapes, adding a touch of thrill to the journey. And for moments of rest, Monkey Spring, a beautifully crafted manmade pool, provides a refreshing space to cool off and soak in the natural ambience.
Our Vision
At The Bentong Farm, we aspire to be a living sanctuary where nature, culture, and community unite. Our vision is to nurture a vibrant green haven that celebrates Malaysia’s rich heritage while strengthening the bond between people, animals, and the environment. With a steadfast commitment to biodiversity conservation and lifelong learning, we create experiences that awaken wonder, spark joy, and inspire every visitor to discover the beauty of harmony with nature.
Meet The Man Behind The Mission

Known as the Malaysian Father of the Petting Zoo, Dato’ Allan Phoon Hoon Yeong J.P. is a passionate entrepreneur dedicated to bringing people closer to nature. Inspired by his childhood love for animals and his father’s legacy in the pet trade, he pioneered Malaysia’s first petting zoo experience — a dream that grew from the heart into a lifelong mission.
In 2012, he founded Farm in the City, followed by The Bentong Farm in 2021 — a larger, immersive destination featuring farm animals, organic gardens, waterfalls, and outdoor adventures. Each space reflects his belief that the bond between people and animals can nurture compassion, awareness, and respect for the natural world.
His vision is to foster environmental awareness through interactive encounters and to create meaningful, joyful experiences for families, students, and visitors of all ages. Today, his petting zoos are recognised as some of Malaysia’s leading agro-tourism attractions, honoured with multiple national awards.
Founder's Philosophy
The Harmony between Man and Animals:
At the heart of Dato’ Allan Phoon’s philosophy is a simple conviction: harmony between people and animals is not only possible, but vital to the well-being of our planet. He envisions a world where humans and animals live side by side, respecting each other’s spaces and needs, and finding balance in that connection.
For him, every gentle interaction — a hand reaching out to feed, a child’s laughter at first contact, a quiet moment shared with a creature — is a reminder that caring for animals also nurtures the heart, teaching us compassion, respect, and responsibility for the world we share.

Our Founder's Journey
The journey of Dato’ Allan Phoon is one of passion, dedication, and vision — a path that began in 1999 and continues to grow stronger today. From his early ventures to the founding of Farm in the City and The Bentong Farm, his story reflects an enduring commitment to creating spaces where people and animals meet in harmony.
